Scholarships.com Announces 2009 Resolve to Evolve Essay Scholarship

Scholarships.com is now accepting applications for the 2009 Resolve to Evolve Essay Scholarship. Between now and July 31, 2009, Scholarships.com members will have a chance to compete for five $1,000 college scholarships in this annual essay contest. In addition to receiving a scholarship prize, winners will also see their essays published online and forwarded to officials who have the power to potentially act upon each essay’s suggestions.
The Scholarships.com Resolve to Evolve Essay Scholarship invites students to offer constructive criticism and workable solutions to problems facing an administration or an organization. Each year, Scholarships.com calls for essays of 300 to 800 words addressing one of two themes that touch on current issues and events in the United States.
The themes for 2009 deal with general education requirements at colleges and calls for change in American politics. The essay competition is open to current undergraduate students and returning adult students at accredited postsecondary education institutions in the United States. Applicants must be able to provide proof of enrollment for fall 2009 if awarded a scholarship.
Scholarships.com looks for essays that demonstrate critical and original thought in addressing their topic. Winning essays will effectively showcase applicants’ abilities to analyze and propose solutions to potential problems and to express their resolutions eloquently.
Winners will be notified on September 30, 2009 and announced on October 31, 2009.
