DEADLINE: June 7th

Whoo hoo!

I am so excited about the second edition of 10 Things College Students Need to Know About Money that I’m doing something I’ve never done before: offering a pre-order. The book will be available on Amazon.com for $15 (you’re saving 30%) so order now to take advantage of this fantastic deal.

Graduation is around the corner for most high school students and I want to make sure that the books you order make it out in time to give as gifts. To that end, if you pre-order your copies of 10 Things College Students Need to Know About Money on June 7th or before, you can buy each book for $10 and you’ll be invited to a special Thank You Webinar! I’ll solicit questions through an email survey after you purchase and then make the webinar about the topics you want to cover.

If you order before May 27th, your books will ship Saturday, May 28th. Don’t worry, you’ll have your copy in time to participate in the virtual book launch.

April is Financial Literacy Month – Credit Cards for Students

Since April is Financial Literacy Month I’ve invited a few folks to share their blogs with my readers throughout the month.

As we all know, the new CARD Act has a restriction that will prohibit people younger than 21 from applying for a credit card unless they have a co-signer that is older than 21 years old. That means that parents with students that will be heading off to college soon may want to co-sign for a card for their child to use in emergency situations, but how do you know which card is a good fit for a college student? This guest post from Digerati Life discusses some of the pros and cons of credit card usage for college students and which credit cards may be the best option for your student.

April is Financial Literacy Month – Psychology of Spending

Since April is Financial Literacy Month I’ve invited a few folks to share their blogs with my readers throughout the month.

The first blog is about the Psychology of Spending. I’m sure we all know that we shouldn’t spend more than we make and we shouldn’t purchase things based on emotion….. but sometimes that’s harder said than done. In that spirit here’s a great article with tips to help you use money wisely.

Shay on Black Authors Network Financial Wellness and Awareness Discussion

In case you missed me on Black Authors Network’s Financial Wellness and Awareness Discussion, here it is. My portion begins at the 1.5 hour mark. I was featured for about 45 minutes.

There were two other authors, Ash Cash and Jennifer Mathews, featured on the show as well. I believe all our books can be found online at Amazon.com.

I’ll also be featured in Black Pearls Magazine in March.
