Macon residents may now apply for scholarships to attend Mercer University, according to a city news release.
A city-appointed committee will pick 15 students to receive $2,000 scholarships from the university for undergraduate study in the 2009-2010 academic year. Mercer funds the awards. All applicants must live in the city and attend Bibb County public schools or Mercer University.
Applications are available on the city’s Web site, www.cityofmacon.net/2009-mercer-scholarship, or in the City Council office between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
All applications must be completed and returned no later than June 20. Previous recipients may apply.
