PR Intern Openings: Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater
NYC ALVIN AILEY AMERICAN DANCE THEATER PR Interns
Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, one of the world’s premier dance institutions that also includes Ailey II, The Ailey School, Ailey Arts-in-Education and Community Programs and The Ailey Extension, is seeking two motivated and personable summer interns in the Public Relations department. The PR department is a small team which manages publicity for all of the aspects of the Ailey organization, which was recently nominated for a PRWeek Award for Ailey’s 50th Anniversary media campaign.
Public Relations Intern: Applicant should have prior knowledge or experience in Public Relations and/or Communications (responsibilities include: working with database of media contacts, writing and editing press releases, creating press materials and press kits, maintain press coverage of the organization, researching media outlets for potential coverage opportunities)
Knowledge of and interest in photo/video editing and graphics (Photoshop, video editing programs) Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced work environment Strong written and verbal communication skills
Video/Photo Production Intern: Experience with shooting and editing video and photography (experience/interest in dance preferred) Competence and experience with editing programs and technology Interest in Marketing and Public Relations

Please know that we are not able to offer a stipend, housing, or any other type of compensation; we do work with schools so that interns can receive academic credit. Interns are also able to take dance classes through The Ailey Extension without charge and participate in a variety of summer intern activities.
